KCFD works to rescue over 100 people stuck on zoo's sky lift

Fire crews were called to rescue over 100 people that are stuck on a sky lift at the Kansas City Zoo Saturday afternoon.

The Kansas City Fire Department said they received the call shortly before 2 p.m.

About 2:10 p.m., 20 minutes later, they were able to get the sky lift moving.

According to the zoo's website, "Ride high above the African Plains on the African Sky Safari. Your toes will dangle just above cheetahs, lions, giraffes and rhinos, and you will land near one of the best chimpanzee exhibits in the world. The journey crosses approximately 1,500 feet at 35 feet above ground and lasts about seven minutes."

No injuries were reported.
