NIGERIANS DON'T PROPHESY ELECTION VIOLENCE
LAGOS: Vikky a Nigerian has just stepped out of her office. She works on Lagos Island and on a typical work day she closes at 6 PM. But it's some minutes to 1 PM and she's gone! She told me she's afraid because of the uncertainty of tomorrow's presidential election. Her office today does not take the usual shape that it does on usual work days; quite a number of her colleagues refused to show up at work today. An unusual fear grips most of them. But who's said Nigeria will come under fire tomorrow? Why do people predict bloodshed all over the country tomorrow? God is in control and He's promised to disorganize any group armed to cause violence in tomorrow's election. Let Nigerians stay relaxed and pray.

My Encounter With An Ebola Survivor
![]() |
| Dr, Ada Igonoh |
During the third quarter of 2014 I walked into a GRE
class to teach a lady. All I knew about her was that she was a medical doctor.
When I stood before her to exchange pleasantries, I had no desire to ask much
about her background. All I did was that I said my name, gave an African smile and said
a ‘hi’. As I faced the board to write the topic for the day, I heard her say “I’m
the first Nigerian doctor(Dr.Ada Igonoh) who survived Ebola”. Immediately, a
cold shiver ran down my spine and the monster—Ebola—
that was greatly feared by many appeared real to me. The beauty of the whole
thing was the way I acted: no sign of my trepidation was noticed by Dr.
Ada Igonoh. Soon I noticed something that triggered a change: the aura of
motivation and optimism that radiated from her. This soon embellished me with an unusual confidence that
dispelled my anxiety.
Staying positive is not a thing you just do to help
you personally, but something that directly and indirectly affects other people
around you. As much as there are challenges daily, so there are opportunities. The
only way you can optimize the opportunities that fly around daily is to develop
a positive aura that will benefit not only you but also the people around you.
The story of Dr. Igonoh’s freedom from Ebola was primarily not because of the medical intervention she had but the
positive words that she feed herself with daily even at the point of death.

“I’m one quarter Coca-Cola,” Warren Buffett
How does the world’s top investor, at 84 drinks Coke like a
six-year-old? Does he not nurse any feeling of being plagued with a terminal
illness and spend his colossal wealth on medications? This billionaire has got
a lesson for all— think like
a six-year-old.
“If I eat 2700 calories a day, a quarter of that is
Coca-Cola. I drink at least five 12-ounce servings. I do it every day.”Warren
Buffet.
There isn’t any evidence to infer that Buffet is on a move
to end his life with Coke. In fact he’s got strong desires to make more money
and enjoy his wealth even if he can play a trick to live up to 120.Buffet’s
action is just a product of his thinking like a six-year-old. Hey, even God
wants you to think that same way!
“…Verily I
say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children…”Matthew
18:3
Trepidation is
something that can’t be found in a six-year-old. God isn’t making a mistake
recommending that we become little
children even at 84.He knows by doing that we become 110% free from any thought
of sickness, divorce and bankruptcy. Until you begin to think like a
six-year-old you’ll remain precluded from maximizing God’s infinite blessings
given to you via redemption. There’s been stories of persons who were 110%
cautious with their diet yet still died of a terminal illness. Being cautious
of what you eat isn’t bad but know that it’s got its limitations. God recommends
that we think like six-year-olds so that we can fully manifest His immutable
nature.
“Be anxious for
nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God” Philippians 4:6
Six-year-olds don’t worry about how the next bill will be
paid and what they’ll eat tomorrow. They just see these things as things that are
fixed naturally. You need to step down from your 30s, 40s 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s
and 90s.Just take the seat of a six-year-old. Your peace has been plagued for
long; in effect, you see the entire world crashing. You’ve looked stocks and exchange
rates for long with no change favouring you. It’s time to give your eyes a
break!
God’s will for your life will be delayed as long as you
refuse to take a switch in your thinking. I implore you to yield to this call
for a switch and you’ll be amazed by the phenomenal results that will hit you.
