I guess you all know her? Well, if you don’t she’s
Stacey Dash, the co-host of Fox News Outnumbered
.A once revered figure suddenly became appalled by many, lampooned by many and
seen as a social bigot by many. Please
don’t add yours to the list because she’s gone through a hell of backlash after
her comment that only 'naughty girls' become victims of rape. She’s claimed
that those hot words came because she was trying to appear hilarious: "After a failed attempt at humor about 'good girls' and
'naughty girls,' during my recent appearance on Outnumbered…” Yes she’s apologized but quite a number of persons
still resent her personality. Stacey Dash got into this mess because of an
unbridled tongue and has now learned the hard way.
“Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue
keeps his soul from troubles”—Proverbs 21:23
Just as a furious horse
needs a bridle to restrain its fierceness so does the tongue. Today the tongue
needs more than one bridle because if not tamed within a moment it can plunge
you into a game of hatred and cause you to be bedeviled with an atmosphere that
is unbearably thermal. But wait a minute! Can your bridles curb the fury of the
tongue?
“But the tongue can no man tame; it is
an unruly evil, full of deadly poison”— James 3:8
Trying to tame the tongue
is like chasing the wind. God has made it known in His word that it is an
adventure that will always hit the rock. You’ve always tried not to sound gabby
but still vomit words that hurt people and even corrupt your spirit. There’s no
trick one can effectively use to keep the tongue from releasing wrong words.
You need to come to the consciousness that the Holy Spirit is needed to
restrain the tongue and not the bridles you use. He’s just going to act as a
sentinel who keeps your tongue from infectious elements.
